VOLUNTEERING
Join the Serie Project’s mission to promote diversity in the arts! Serie Project volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to a unique nonprofit organization. Volunteers gain exposure to the workings of an Artist in Residence program through projects such as archiving, art handling, and studio assistance. Although currently there are limited volunteer projects, those interested should opt-in the Serie Project’s Volunteering Email List Service. This email service sends notifications as volunteer projects arise. Recipients may respond to an email when or if they would like to volunteer, and may also opt-out of the service at any time.
INTERNSHIPS
The Serie Project offers internships on a semester basis to undergraduate and graduate students. All internships are unpaid but the benefits, in addition to gaining experience in an alternative arts nonprofit organization, include the opportunity to work in a young and encouraging learning environment, interact with up-and-coming artists, and contribute to the Serie Project’s mission. Interns may be granted university accreditation upon completion of the proper paperwork. Each intern receives a letter of recommendation once s/he has completed the internship, and the Serie Project will be glad to offer assistance with job references.
Most internship positions at the Serie Project require a commitment of 15 hours per week, with the exception of university holidays and breaks. Internship hours are flexible, and can fall within the hours of 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Varying with each semester, internships may be available in one or all of the following areas: Art Administration, Marketing, Printmaking, and Graphics Design.
