Screen Print Workshop
Saturday, June 29 – Sunday, June 30, 2013
6:00 – 9:00 PM
6601 Felix Avenue
Austin, TX 78741
Coronado Studio is offering a special two-day screen printing workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to work side by side with Coronado Studio’s professional printers and learn first hand about the process of screen printing.
Coronado Studio is the primary studio for Austin’s Serie Project, a non-profit artist residency program that is now in its 20th year of operation. Since the studio’s founding in 1993, we have helped artists from around the world to produce their own limited edition hand-pulled prints.
Participants in this workshop will be given a thorough introduction to:
- Artwork preparation and make-ready
- Darkroom set-up and screen preparation
- Exposing Photo-emulsion
- Prepress procedure and concerns
- Registration
- Printing with waterbase ink
Participants will be allowed to bring in their own artwork to work with during the workshop. Walk away with a better appreciation of screen printing…and your own hand-pulled prints!
Space is limited to 6 participants. Workshop tuition is $275 and includes the price of all chemicals, inks, supplies, and paper. And as a complimentary gift, participants get a free edition of the book “Screen Printing Today” by Andy MacDougall. If you’re interested, please contact serie@serieproject.org or call 512-385-3591.
