Untitled [American Dream]
The image illustrates an imaginary landscape where a mountain of crawling silhouettes and curious eyes watch over a dark and mysterious forest of trees. In that landscape are colorful silhouettes of people, horses, and figures trying to make their way to the top in pursuit of the dream. At the top of the mountain sits an iconic house symbolic of the American Dream. The print is somewhat dark and mysterious, it represents the unknown and sometimes perilous journey that many individuals take to pursue their dreams, whether it’s a better life for themselves or for future generations.
“I use the house as an icon for the American dream, it represents real estate in general” – Mercado
