Product Description

Jaime Arredondo attended the University of Dallas where he earned a BA in Art, and Yale University where he earned his MFA in Painting. He explains that the flower in Mesoamerican culture reflects a dual character of both the living and the afterlife. As such, it behaves as a portal to access the sacred and divine. Both Claude Monet’s treatment of color and light and research into Native American treatment of the flower have informed his work. “Native peoples view the flower as a living symbol of memory, faith, and spirit, concrete artifacts by which we may tap into the lives of our ancestors.”
