Born in Boulder, CO in 1960, Byron Brauchli holds a MFA from UT Austin. He is currently a researcher at the Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Veracruz. He specializes in Mexican-American visual studies and alternate photographic processes. He has participated in over 100 individual and collective exhibits and is included in various collections and magazines. His works grow from a documentary exploration of landscape and bi-cultural relationships. He is interested in transcultural perception of the U.S.- Mexican border and how the two cultures relate to it as well as a dialogue wit and reaction to traditional modernist methodologies.
