“This image is based on a narrative I’ve created that tells stories of illegal immigration from Mexico to the US and presenting them in a format that references ancient Mexican civilization’s documentation. This print is from an instance where a group of cats have been dismembered and turned into a construction site.” – Michael Menchaca
Michael Menchaca’s graphic imagery is influenced by early Byzantine art, ancient Egyptian wall paintings, and the Mexican Muralist movement. Since earning his BFA from Texas State University in 2011, Menchaca’s work has been exhibited throughout Texas and the US in group and solo exhibitions.
